Do you live near Solano Avenue?
First of all, we would like to extend our appreciation for those who feel the impact of the Solano Avenue Stroll. Please rest assured that we take every measure possible to ensure that the impact to the area is minimal. Our Association Director personally walks through the blocks surrounding the area the day after the event to ensure that the vicinity is neat and orderly. (In fact he does a daily sweep of the Avenue in the mornings.) You can also see in our day-of-event instruction sheets; we remind the event participants that they are to park legally and impact the area minimally, as they are guests on the Avenue.
On the Thursday before the Solano Avenue Stroll, we go door-to-door and "notice" everyone within a block of Solano Avenue that the district will be closed to through traffic on the Sunday of the Solano Avenue Stroll. There will be barricades placed up/down Marin Avenue, as well as the streets that run parallel/north of Solano. Residences are asked to move (in most cases drive around) the barricades. There will be no parking on Solano Avenue from seven am through seven pm the day of the Stroll. Please see that your guests are aware of the Stroll, at night Solano can be dim (old street lighting) and people may not see the signage even though we take the extra step/expense of printing on full color "pulsar pink" paper.
Thank you for your continuing patience if you are a resident of the area. We hope to see you at the stroll. It is invariably the second Sunday in September.
